After 25

Sure you're still in your 20's but when you pass that quarter of a century mark, somehow you start to fell NOT-young anymore. At least I do, haha! And then there are some things that just shout, "you're old". :P

NOW: Sure you can still party 'till dawn but not without feeling really exhausted (you end up sleeping for 10 hours straight lol). Plus this is like a once in a blue moon event, you're more into dining out and movies and coffee nowadays.
BEFORE: You party until closing time, yep that's almost if not sunrise already. Oh and getting breakfast after, before heading home, is not unusual.

NOW: You have a glass or two out, maybe 3 on special occassions but most of the time you'd rather drink in-house.
BEFORE: You can drink all kinds of alcohol (of course this is case-to-case basis) and drink a bucket of beer and still get home safe and sound.

NOW: From margarita to wine, now mostly WINE. Yeah, WINE!!!
BEFORE: 1st choice of drink - TEQUIla or maybe a cosmo if feeling SATC-ish :)

NOW: You actually love spending time at home, watching NCIS in your room or simply feeling domestic.
BEFORE: You're only a text away from going out. You are a social butterfly.

NOW: Your parents have to beg you to get out of their house.
BEFORE: When you go home (province) during holidays, you can't get out of the house fast enough.

NOW: When you binge it shows! I guess metabolism isn't as effective as it used to be.
BEFORE: You eat whatever you want without (significantly) gaining weight.

Ohh how I miss being young and carefree, hehehe! Of course there are a lot of great things that come with growing up as well, but that's an entirely different conversation. Maybe next time.. :)

Bittersweet

Friends. There are a lot of types of those - you have the BFFs, the sister-kind, special friends (whatever special's definition is), etc. But there is one kind of friend I think everybody should have. They're not necessarily your best buddies or the friends you go out with regularly, and they can even be annoying! But the good thing about them is that you can be mean to them and you're still sure you're friends. Not a single moment do you fear that you'll lose that friendship. Of course you don't release all your wrath just for kicks but you know that you don't have to filter your words or emotions towards them. No sugar-coating whatsoever.You can be blunt and it's okay. You get away at being a bicth or jerk to each other because after all has been said and done, at the end of the day you care about each other. And that supercedes everything! :)

10 Things I Love About NCIS

I have just finished all of NCIS 150 episodes (yeah baby, I'm now up to date with the show which is midway on its 7th season) and I am wishing there will be 150 more! I super love this show, every single bit of it from the characters to the dialogue to the style. There are probably a hundred reasons to love this show but here's my top 10:

10. All the movie references, thanks to the in-house movie buff Tony DiNozzo. Mostly used for humor but sometimes help solve the case. 

9. They have a goth for a forensics scientist, and in an awesome kind of goth. Oh and did I mention she wears really short skirts in the lab? 

8. It makes the (back) head slap kinda fun and sort of a positive thing. :)

7. Ziva-ism - Ziva's witty remarks and expressions that don't quite translate. One of my favorites was when she said with all seriousness, "barking up the wrong bush". LOL. Of course Tony or McGee corrects her all the time and it's hilarious. Another very funny Ziva-ism would be, "Mind if I take a batnap?". 

6. McGee's many names (mostly given by Tony) - McProbi, Probie Wan Kenobi, McGeek, McRomeo, Elf Lord, McGoo, Probilicious (my fave), and lots more. Probably a hundred of them already lol. 

5. Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the epitome of a difficult even terror superior  you just can't help but love. Definitely the kind of boss you secretly want, looks out for each member of the team not to mention very loyal. And oh yeah, a great interrogator and if needed a devious investigator! :P

4. The Gibbs-DiNozzo connection. Their father-son-ish relationship is cute and always amusing. 

3. Gibbs' Rules. There are about 50 of them but maybe only half has been mentioned so far. The most popular would be #6: "Never apologize, it's a sign of weakness." but my favorite is rule#4: "If you have a secret, the best thing is to keep it to yourself. The second-best is to tell one other person if you must. There is no third-best."

2. The unresolved (4 seasons and counting) sexual tension, love and hate non-couple relationship of Tony and Ziva. I'm so rooting for this two, obviously they care deeply about each other but they just haven't crossed that line. But that doesn't mean they haven't been flirting. Gawd, I love how these two characters banter and tease each other. :)

1. The very special senior agent Anthony DiNozzo. Seriously, NCIS is not NCIS without this guy - the good-looking agent who likes to hide behind the face of a clown, the first one to crack a joke in the room but takes the job seriously although it might not seem that way lol. He makes NCIS a whole lot more fun to watch. :D

Stop, Think, Act

Patience is a virtue? But of course! Unfortunately I am one of those who seem to be lacking this particular virtue. Hahaha! Sure I can be patient in rare occasions, VERY actually at some point. However, in most cases and most of the time I am NOT. But I try, lol.  :P

I actually applauded and couldn’t agree more when I read this quote,

“Things may come to those who wait... but only the things left by those who hustle.”

I’m pretty sure all those like me (read: impatient) did somehow feel a bit of consolation (see impatience can be positive and patience is not all that good haha). And although I certainly believe in this saying, it’s not universal as is most things in this world. Sure taking an immediate action pays off but not all the time. There are instances when waiting before taking any action is the better alternative.  By waiting of course I don't mean absolutely doing nothing. I'm not saying you shouldn’t hustle either, I am all for taking whatever it takes; but maybe instead of being reactive all the time why not take a moment and think before pursuing anything? It doesn't hurt to ponder. 

So chill, because more often than not it pays more to think things through and not act on impulse. And together impatient and impulsive people, let us practice pausing before hustling. :)

Hot and Missed

It's been a while and thanks to a twitter discussion with a couple of friends, i finally got my blogging mojo back. ROFL. And yes it would be about my favorite past time that is, television. Hahaha! :)

I watch a LOT of TV, right? And me and my friends were just tweeting about Sark of Alias (you know the ass-kicking show that made Jennifer Garner a star?) and how much we missed him. And i suddenly thought of all the shows and characters i love, then and now.  Well it's a long list but here's my top 5:

MOST MISSED:

1. Sark (Alias) -- I bet all Alias's fans miss him! C'mon who wouldn't miss the hottest terrorist in tv eveh? LOL. He was probably the only one character i know that was supposed to be just few episodes but ended up being a season(s) regular. Haha! Before Sylar became a hero (though I personally don't share the love), Sark was definitely one of the villain you just love to hate. I miss all the gang of Alias. :)

2. Cole (Charmed) -- Another evil character you just can't help but love. Falling in love with one of the Charmed sisters definitely helped. I don't know, i guess I just dig the evil with a soft side character haha!

3. SATC girls -- Doncha just miss all the over-the-top wardrobe and enlightening conversations of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlote? Good thing we have the movies, looking forward to SATC 2. :)

HOT NOW:

4. Damon Salvatore (Vampire Diaries) -- Not so big on the vampire craze but this is one vampire show that has substance, not to mention hawt vampires lol. Love both the salvatore brothers but Damon i like more.Evil but with hints of humanity? Charming and devious, hmmm my kind vamp. LOL. Plus Ian Sommerhalder is playing the part really well.

5. Anthony Dinozzo (NCIS) -- "Soft and goofy on the outside, 100% rock on the inside." It's impossible not to like this street smart character, he won me over from the very first episode i watched. This character sure makes NCIS team a whole lot cooler and funnier. Hehe! More on my soon-to-come NCIS entry (super super LOVE the show, i watched the first five seasons over the holidays. Adik much? Haha!)

Honorobale mention to the much improved character of Nathaniel Archibald (IMY Gossip Girl) and the Glee kids. :D
